Spiders of the Southern Appalachians
Highlands Biological Station, Highlands, NC
This two-week intensive field course is designed to give students an in-depth look at regional spider taxonomy, diversity, and natural history. Students stay in housing on the station and participate in daily lectures, collecting trips, lab work identifying spiders, and execute independent research projects. Students are required to complete a final exam and a graded collection to gain course credit at the graduate or undergraduate level through participating universities.
